Nickel Carbonate Battery Tablets
Nickel Carbonate is used as a voltage stabilizer and has applications in lead-acid batteries. For several years TAB-PRO LLC has been supplying tablets to battery manufacturers and battery service groups. In tablet form, weighing is eliminated, time is saved, and dust generation is minimized. Tab-Pro became involved because we have the expertise in chemical tablet development and manufacture. We are not electrical or electronic experts. However, purchase of tablets by customers over several years leads us to believe Nickel Carbonate tablets should be of benefit to others serving the battery markets. Information developed from conversations with tablet users indicates the nickel content stabilizes charging voltages, allows full charge and increases battery life. Terms used are "acts as a depolarizer", and "reduces voltage to normal range".
Nickel Carbonate tablets have been added to new batteries, inserted in rebuilds and sometimes only to problem cells. So far the application references are to 1.5 volt cells in flooded-type lead-acid batteries. The stock tablets contain 220mg minimum of nickel. The total tablet weight is approx. 575mg. The tableting excipients (lubricant and binder) have proven compatible with the end use. Tablets can also be supplied in other sizes and as powder if that would better serve your applications.
Samples of the stock tablets are sent on request so you can determine suitability for your possible applications.
