Sodium Thiosulfate Tablets

Sodium Thiosulfate Tablets

Sodium Thiosulfate Tablets, 100mg, Non-Sterilized (F-Code 293) - An ideal reducing agent for dehalogenating water samples prior to bacterial or organics testing.

Major ingredients: 10mg Sodium Thiosulfate, Reagent Grade, CAS: 10102-17-7
84mg Sodium Chloride, USP, CAS: 7647-14-5

Applications: Analytical water sampling techniques, requiring a controlled amount of Sodium Thiosulfate as a de-chlorination agent, are ideal applications for Sodium Thiosulfate Tablets. By neutralizing free halogens, the tablets prevent destruction of bacterial organic material prior to analysis. One tablet is intended for potable, domestic, water sampling of 4 oz (120mL). When used for recreational waters, wastewater, surface or irrigation waters, tests should be run to determine the required number of tablets.

Sterilization with excess heat or radiation may cause tablet color changes without affecting efficacy.

Characteristics & Properties:
  • Color: White tablets, approx. ¼" diameter.
  • pH at 25 degrees C: approx. 7 (1 tablet per 120 mL)
  • Solubility: Clear solution in approx. 10 minutes or less.
  • Shelf Life: 4 years under normal storage conditions.

Packaging & Prices: Sodium Thiosulfate Tablets are classified as DOT non-hazardous material (49 CFR) for shipping. Tablets are packaged in 500 mL bottles of 5,000 tablets each, with a desiccant.
