Absorb-Tabs® are a line of carrier tablets designed to absorb non-aqueous liquids, including fragrances, essential oils, lubricants, rust preventatives, and other volatiles. These non-toxic tablets are made of cellulosic materials and are insoluble in aqueous and organic solutions. Absorb-Tabs® can be impregnated with up to 35% of their weight with non-aqueous liquids and can provide long-term release of these liquids. Additionally, these tablets can be used to slowly release a liquid into other liquid systems. When added to water, Absorb-Tabs® quickly disintegrate.
Absorb-Tabs® are a popular choice in many consumer products as they impart a pleasant fragrance and mask raw material odors. They are also highly versatile and have a wide range of potential applications in the packaging, industrial, and OEM sectors.
These carrier tablets are available in a range of sizes, from ¼ to 4" OD, and certain sizes and shapes are kept in stock to meet the needs of customers requiring samples and small quantities. For larger quantities of non-stock sizes, minimum runs of 75,000 are recommended, although smaller runs can be accommodated for sizes over 1" OD. Free samples of stock sizes (1 to 2 dozen depending on size) are available on request. If other sizes are required, customers are encouraged to contact us as we may have them in stock.
Impregnation of Absorb-Tabs® can be done either by the customer or by our team. Samples can be prepared by immersing the tablets followed by blotting if necessary, or by adding the liquid with a medicine dropper. To determine the amount of liquid absorbed, several tablets can be weighed before and after impregnation. The amount of liquid absorbed and the release period will depend on the characteristics of the selected liquid.
